HELEN DUPONT
OBERLIN HIGH SCHOOL
OBERLIN, OHIO
Hello! This special page has been created with the assistance of the EOG. My name is Helen Dupont. I am currently in my 21st year of teaching at Oberlin High School. This year my colleague and I are using a cross-categorical format to teach students in the special education program at OHS. Together we serve approximately 50 developmentally handicapped and learning disabled students.
Oberlin High School has about 400 students in grades 9-12. The school is especially proud of the academic achievements of many students and has numerous winners of music and art competitions. The town of Oberlin is located in Lorain County, about 25 miles west of Cleveland. It also home of Oberlin College, the first coed college in the US. One of my favorite places to visit is Allen Art Museum. The museum is open year round, free admission, and hosts some fascinating exhibits that I often take my students to see.
On a personal note, I live in nearby Elyria with my husband, Bob, and my three children, Michelle, Jon, and Brett. Michelle attends Elyria High School; Jon and Brett attend Eastern Heights Junior High. We keep busy with many activities including little league baseball, football (junior high teams), church functions, and in the summer, the world's best amusement park, Cedar Point.
Below are some of the websites that I have found interesting:
