Camp List

The following list is provided to help you plan for the trip this week-end. It is not exhaustive, but is intended to highlight some things that you might not think to bring - or that would be disasterous if you didn't.

warm sleeping bag

sleeping pad for underneath your bag (you'll be awfully cold without it)

a hat

raincoat (rain pants are always good insurance)

small backpack to carry stuff in the field

a water bottle (important)

an extra pair of shoes for around camp

a change of clothes in case you get wet - or worse

a sweatshirt for the evening

a pair of good walking shoes (sandals really suck in loose sand)

a notebook and a couple of pencils

camera (optional, but fun)

a plate, cup and bowl (if you can't get one, email me tonight and I'll try to get something for you - no last minute requests please). I'll bring some plastic silverware.

sunscreen might help - believe it or not

somne band-aids and very basic first aid supplies (cream, etc.) is a good idea but not a must-have

any special "munchies for the evening or trail snacks

ca. $20 should more than cover your dinner, breakfast plus any last-minute needs. I'll have some extra $$ if you come up short - and my interest rates are now down to 40% per day.

A towel, wash cloth, etc. There are showers, but none of the other amenities you might be used to in a hotel.

A flashlight is also a good idea for scaring off lions, tiger and bears - and finding the bathroom in the dark.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, so if you thinkm of anything feel free to email the group.
