EXWR 112-01
LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, &
TRANSGENDER ISSUES IN WRITING
MIDTERM EVALUATION
FOLDER
Here are the steps I'd like you to follow to prepare your folder
to turn in by Friday, October 15 at noon:
- Gather all materials from this class--all drafts, notes, false
starts, comments from me or classmates or tutors, and
xeroxes.
- Put all the materials in chronological order and label them
(e.g. "Paper 2--first draft").
- Make a Table of Contents, listing all the materials in your
folder.
- Read through all the materials you have collected. Read
carefully.
- Answer this question in a well-supported, finished piece of
writing: What have you learned about your composing process(es)
so far this semester? You might also consider the following
questions as you write:
- What helps you write at all and write better prose?
- What gets in your way of getting your writing done or doing it
well?
- How have you used the various resources available to you to
improve your writing (for example, classmates' comments, the peer
tutors in the library, my comments)?
- What do you think you still need to work on in your writing
during the second half of the semester?
I will look forward to seeing these folders at the end of next
week. If you don't think you can get your folder in by then, please
talk to me about it before Tuesday, October 12.
I will return your folder and discuss it with you after spring
break.
Have a safe and happy break.
