Paper 3: Research Topic in Sexuality
In this paper I'd like to give you the opportunity to explore a topic in sexuality that particularly interests you. Pick a topic that you want to research using or confronting some form of gathering information familiar to a recognizable academic field. The topic you pick should be sufficiently focused to cover adequately in 5 to 8 pages; it should include references to at least two outside sources of information.
To write the paper, follow these stages:
- stage 1: Proposal (due Tuesday, April 1)-- for this stage you will turn in a typed description of the topic you'd like to research and a paragraph describing exactly how you plan to research it.
- stage 2: Report (due Thursday, April 10)--for this stage you will turn in a typed list of your sources and/or instrument for gathering research, including at least 2 outside sources
- stage 3: First Draft (due Tuesday, April 22)
- stage 4: Second Draft (due Tuesday, April 29)
- stage 5: Final Draft (due in Final Folder on Tuesday, May 13)
OPTIONAL SUBSTITUTIONS:
- 1) if you have a research paper due in another class you may substitute that project for this paper
or
- 2) if you are already confident of your research writing skills and wish to explore some other sort of writing, we can probably negotiate something else for you to do.
If you wish to substitute either of these options for this assignment, however, we need to agree on the terms of your project this week (before April 1).
