Stephen Crowley, Assistant Professor of Politics, received his B.A. from Hamilton College and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. He is a specialist on politics in Russia and eastern Europe. His publications focus on workers' political consciousness and movements, attempting to explain why labor is very radical in some sectors, but quiescent in others. Both his teaching and research also address the question of social movements generally.
