Learning and Labor on the Farm

Aldrumesia Baker, left, and Marlee Blasenheim, both student interns at George Jones Farm, care for the plants in one of the farm’s greenhouses. The 70-acre farm is not just a producer of organic vegetables, but also a nature preserve and education center. It is named for Professor Emeritus of Botany George Jones, who taught at Oberlin for almost four decades beginning in the 1920s.

Oberlin students and others from nearby educational institutions help keep the farm running during the summer and throughout the academic year.
