Opened in Fall 2007, the Robert S. Lemle '75 and Roni Kohen-Lemle '76 Academic Commons fosters academic community on campus and provides coordinated research, information, technology, and learning assistance for Oberlin students. To achieve its mission the Commons offers spaces for collaborative work, study, teaching, and tutoring; learning support services; technology support; and social gathering spots, including a café that offers beverages and light snacks. Collaboratively maintained by the Library and the Center for Information Technology, the Commons is one of the most heavily used spaces on campus, and has proven to be exceptionally popular among students as a place to study, work, collaborate, learn, and socialize.
