On the east wall of the 3rd floor there's an artwork called "Dragon Proverb." What's the translation of the sculpted characters?
--Doesn't read Chinese
Dear DRC,
That artwork is by Oberlin alumna Linda Graves. The characters in the piece on the left read (from top to bottom) "dragon," "phoenix," "good," and "luck." The dragon and phoenix are symbols of good luck. The one on the right is harder to read, but appears to say pretty much the same thing. My thanks to reference librarian Haipeng Li for this explanation.
