Public Observing
Times and Dates:
We are generally open to the public on the first and third Friday evenings during the school year. The specific dates and times are posted on the Oberlin College Events Calendar. All open houses are free and open to the public. In case of clouds or other conditions where the telescopes cannot be opened, the planetarium will be open instead.
Directions:
We are located atop Peters Hall, 50 N Professor St., which is in the center of the block on Professor Street, facing east onto Tappan Square. Enter Peters through the elevator lobby on the southwest corner of the building and take either the stairs or the elevator to the fourth floor. Look for the entrance to the observatory in the hallway just off the lobby. Our door has a round window and a ceiling sign above it that says "In Use". There should be someone at the door to greet you. We have an occupancy limit of 35 past this door, so on crowded nights, you may have to wait in the 4th floor lobby until space is available.
