Use this procedure for converting your
personal lists of Internet email addresses. It does not
work for QuickMail accounts.
You must have version 1.3.4 or higher of
Mulberry. If you have version 1.3.3.1, you will need to update to
1.3.4 first.
Your QM address book entries must have both
the first and last name fields filled out or they will not export
correctly from QuickMail. Please edit your entries as needed
before proceeding.
From QuickMail
Choose Address Books from the Configure
menu.
Select the address book you wish to export
from the list and click Edit.
Click on the Export button in the lower
right.
Choose the location to save the file and click
Save.
Click on the OK button and repeat steps 2-4
for each address book.
Click Done when finished.
From Mulberry
Choose Address Book Manager from the Addresses
menu.
Highlight either the Local folder or
mail.oberlin.edu folder depending on whether you want to store
your address book on your local hard drive or on the server.
(Note: there are advantages to the latter.)
Click on New.
If creating an address book on the server,
enter a name for it. (Note: such remote address book names
must start with "youruserid.", for example
"sabc1234.friends") Click OK.
If creating a local address book, you will not be prompted for a
name and location to save the address book until you close either
the address book or the Mulberry application.
Under the Addesses menu, drag to Import and
select QuickMail.
Locate and highlight the address book to be
imported. Click OK. The addresses will be imported into the new
address book.
Note you can also import addresses into already
existing Mulberry address books. Just open the address book and
proceed from step 5 above.
