The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Safety and Security.

August 24, 11:48 a.m. Officer responded to a report to a disagreement between a staff member and a recreation program member at Philips Gym. It was reported a program member left sweat clothes in the Sauna while working out in other areas of the facility. The member left the area before the officer's arrival.

August 26, 7:30 a.m. Officer reponded to Talcott Hall to a report of a shatterred rear window of a parked vehicle by a BB pellet. No other vehicles in the lot were damaged. The vehicle was parked at 11:00 p.m. and discovered at 7:00 a.m.

August 28, 8:45 a.m. Officer responded to a report of the theft of a tire and rim from a motor vehicle parked in the Willard Court Parking Lot. The vehicle, a 1991 Geo Prizm, was parked in the parking lot on the evening of August 27, and the tire and rim was discovered missing on august 28.

August 31, 2:56 a.m. Officer and officers from the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the second floor kitchen of Talcott Hall. The alarm was activated by food left cooking in a microwave that was put on a setting excessive for the food items. Three non-resident students of Talcott Hall were seen using the microwave prior to the incident.

7:56 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a theft of stereo speakers from a dorm room at Burton Hall. The owner left the door unlocked while leaving for a few minutes at approximately 7:15 p.m. The missing stereo and speakers was an Aiwa brand with a value of $350.

September 1, 1:09 a.m. Officer and Residential Life Staff responded to Asia House on report of a student ill from drinking too much alcohol.

3:01 p.m. Officer responded to investigate a report of a missing dual cassette tape player from South Hall basement storage. The item was stored in May 1998 and was valued at $220.

4:50 p.m. Officer responded to investigate a report of a missing power strip for a computer from the South Hall basement storage.

7:07 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a college employee who had slipped and injured an arm at Stevenson Hall. Thr injured worker was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

9:25 p.m. Officer responded to South Hall to a report of a theft of a black Technics Dual Cassette tape recorder, Model RS-TR373, from the basement storage. The recorder was left in a box in mid-May and was discovered missing on August 31.

September 2, 6:23 a.m. Officer and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Hales Gym. The cause of the alarm was a malfunction in a pull station. A work order was placed for the repair of the pull station.

2:03 p.m. Officer responded to Hales Gym on a report of a broken window in the Jazz Studio. The window was accidentally bumped by an instrument case.
