Sept. 2, 11:32 a.m. Officer responded to a report of a theft of $375 cash from deposit box in an office in Philips Gym.
11:48 a.m. Officer responded to a report that private information had been accessed on an office computer at the center for Service and Learning sometime between August 29 and September 2.
Sept. 3, 5:59 p.m. Officer met with a student who had reported a male who had exposed himself to her and/or was masturbating while she jogged on the bike path west of Professor Street. The subject was a white male, age 30 to 40, 5'10" tall, 180 to 190 lbs, with dark brown hair and with a lighter color goatee, wearing a tee shirt, black spandex running shorts, bike shoes, and tinted glasses with plastic frames.
Sept. 4, 6:51 p.m. Officer and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Stevenson. The cause of the alarm was a malfunction of a motor in a water fountain.
10:05 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a theft of a bicycle which was last seen August 31 in front of Burton Hall. The bicycle is a street bike; brand not known.
1:05 p.m. Officer responded to a report of an injury to a contractor working on landscaping at the Conservatory. The contractor's hand was injured while a large rock was being moved. The contractor was treated at Allen Memorial Hospital.
3:30 p.m. Officer responded to a report of the theft of a bicycle parked and locked behind Dascomb for thirty minutes. The bicycle is a black, girls three-speed; value $175.
Sept. 5, 12:45 a.m. Officer responded to a student who reported her purse stolen that evening from the Disco. The purse was a small brightly colored Thai-purse containing $15 and an OC i.d. card.
1:18 a.m. Officer reported to Dascomb on a report of a student ill and unresponsive from drinking too much alcohol. The student was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital via ambulance, treated and released.
2:28 a.m. Officer responded to Barrows Hall on a report of a student ill from drinking too much alcohol.
5:22 a.m. Officer responded to Hall Annex, where two plastic trays were left on a lit burner in the first floor lounge. The trays were removed and the stove out of service.
3:00 p.m. Officer responded to a report of an accident in Wilder Lot where a vehicle, backing up, struck the dumpster causing a broken rear window and minor damage to the vehicle.
5:13 p.m. Officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Philips Gym. A pull station was activated by a curious child.
7:32 p.m. Officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a priority fire alarm at the Oberlin Inn. A pull station was activated by a child attending a wedding reception.
Sept. 6, 2:30 a.m. Officer responded to a report of an assault of a student by another student in the form of a fight at an off-campus party. The two students decided to settle their differences without any further physical alteration.
3:50 a.m. Officer responded to Allen Memorial Hospital at the report of an assault of a student which occurred off-campus on South Main Street. Matter under investigation by the Oberlin Police Department.
4:39 a.m. Officer responded to a report of a female student who was physically assaulted and the victim of an attempted rape by an unidentified male in her room in Fairchild House. The victim was hospitalized. The assailant was described by the Oberlin Police Department as a black male between 17 and 23 years old having short hair, weighing between 150 and 170 pounds, and wearing a white or gray tee shirt with denim shorts.
4:05 p.m. Six students reported they were harassed by five to six black males and a white male approximately 18 years of age at two separate locations: at Wilder Disco and at an off-campus party on South Main street.
5:00 p.m. Officer responded to a student reporting that an assault of a sexual nature had occurred on Saturday, off campus after attending an off-campus party and accompanying an acquaintance to an off-campus location. Matter is under investigation by the Oberlin Police Department.
7:20 p.m. Officer responded to a report of two black males between the ages of 18 and 25 approaching two college students in Tappan Square making statements about scaring people by stating they had no brakes on their bikes.
9:49 p.m. Officer responded to Johnson House in reference to a report of a suspicious male who appeared to be attempting to enter the residence. The suspicious male is described as a white male, approximately 5'10" tall, wearing baggy shorts, a black shirt, and brown hair with a crew cut. Subject exited to the area behind Johnson House.
Sept. 7, 6:23 a.m. Officer responded to a report by the Oberlin Police Department that two students had been charged with a traffic offense of reckless operation and failure to comply (upon request to leave the area.)
Sept. 8, 3:12 p.m. Officer met with a student who reported being approached by a black male and two white males on bicycles talking about the assault which took place on September 6 at Fairchild.
8:30 p.m. Officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm. A student, who was participating in a blindfold exercise, accidentally pulled a pull station.
9:00 p.m. Officer responded to a student walking off campus on South Professor Street who reported a suspicious person. The person was described as a white male, unshaven, in his late 20's with dirty blond shoulder length hair, driving a small, white, rusty station wagon who slowed down to stare at the student and the student's friend.
10:05 p.m. Officer responded to a disagreement at Lord Cottage between two students over ownership of a watch. The students were referred to mediation through Residential Life and Services.
