The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Safety and Security.

Nov. 19, 12:37 a.m. Officer responded to a report that threatening e-mail and harassing telephone calls had been received by a student in Langston Hall from a student who was a former friend. The student was requested to discontinue contact with the former friend until the situation could be resolved.

6:09 a.m. Officer responded to a report that a flyer degrading a specific person had posted overnight in Lord Saunders and Price Houses. Additional flyers degrading a list of a larger group of persons were also found.

10:14 a.m. Officer responded to a report that 20 cases of Strohs and Michalob beer, six to eight cases of Champagne, and an unknown amount of Meir non-alcoholic Champagne, with an estimated value of $300, had been removed from two coolers at the north end of South Hall kitchen. Time period of the theft is possibly between early November until Nov. 18.

1:11 p.m. Officer responded to a report that a student found that approximately 50 dollars had been taken from her wallet before it was turned in to Safety and Security. The wallet had been found on a table in Dascomb dining room between 10:15 and 10:50 a.m.

Nov. 20, 11:35 a.m. Officer responded to a report that a vending machine at Hall Annex had approximately $12 worth of product removed through tampering. The time period of the loss was not reported. The company will take steps in mounting the machine to prevent additional losses.

11 p.m. Officer responded to the request of a residential life staff member to transport a student to Community Health Partners in Lorain. The student was treated and released.

Nov. 21, 9:38 p.m. Officer responded to the report of an intoxicated person attempting to enter a room at Harvey House. The subject, described as a student, African American male, 5'2", thin, wearing a necklace of shells, attempted to open a student's door and asked for another student. The offending student was not located, and Residential Life was asked to remind students to keep their room doors locked.

5:08 p.m. Officer responded to the report of a small fire on a table on the loading dock of Mudd. The flame was blown out; minimal damage on the table occurred.

8 p.m. Officer responded to the report of a theft of drum equipment from Wilder over the month since Oct. 21. Missing is a snare drum head, splash cymbal, three pairs of drumsticks, a pillow and a stool, and a High-Hat drum catch totaling $863.

Nov. 22, 6:15 p.m. Officer responded to the report of a money order and plane ticket stolen from her room between Thursday evening, Nov. 19 and Friday morning, Nov. 20. The money order was canceled and another plane ticket obtained.

Nov. 23, 6:14 a.m. Officer responded to a report of a burglary and theft from a computer lab in King Building. Two computers, one monitor, and one mouse, total value of $3290 were taken. Oberlin Police Department also responded.

12:25 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a student who was injured after falling from her bicycle on Professor Street in front of King Building. The student was transported for treatment to Student Health.

5:46 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a student demonstration at Dascomb Dining Hall. Approximately thirteen students marched within the facility in presenting their views about the transfer of students jobs from Dascomb to Stevenson Dining facilities.

9:53 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a strange odor in the third floor room of Johnson House. Upon detection of the unidentified odor, Oberlin Fire Department was notified for a response. The room was tested, ventilated by fans, and occupants were permitted to reenter.

11:40 p.m. Officer responded to an anonymous report by a parent of a student from Barrows that a male from off-campus was cohabiting with his girlfriend in the student's room. The information was shared with Residential Life.

Nov. 24, 4:30 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a disagreement between former friends, both students, that occurred off-campus a day earlier. Upon refusing to answer the door, the former friend of the student who lives off-campus began kicking the door before being asked to leave.

8:23 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a fight at the ice rink. A juvenile spectator stated a member of a team from the Lorain County Thunderbird Association game struck him with a hockey stick after a comment was made about his removal from the game. Other young people then joined in, punching and kicking. The incident was also reported to the Oberlin Police Department.

Nov. 25, 1:50 a.m. Officer responded to a report of a disturbance in a residential room of Fairchild. An argument had taken place between a female student who resides in Fairchild and a male student who resides in Langston. Both students had been drinking alcohol and beer bottles had been thrown against the wall. The male student was transported to Langston and the students were requested to have no more contact for the night.

Nov. 26, 9:19 a.m. Officer, while on patrol, found a residential hall storage area in South Hall had been tampered with by removal of bolts securing one corner of the cage.

Nov. 27, 4:22 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a theft by a student who lives off-campus on Woodland Street. The right front wheel and tire had been stolen from a 1988 Honda parked in a garage between Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 25, and the time of the report. Oberlin Police Department had also responded for a report.

Nov. 28, 12:47 a.m. Officer responded to a report that Federal Express labels, removed from the service box at Wilder, had been placed on parking signs and windows facing Wilder parking lot. Labels were removed.

Nov. 30, 11 a.m. Officer responded to a report of the theft of twelve red light bulbs taken from the holiday lighting strings on the bandstand in Tappan Square. The loss occurred during the night time hours on Thursday, Nov. 26. A second loss of fifty clear light bulbs from the forty-foot tree occurred overnight Sunday, Nov. 29. Total loss in bulbs was approximately $25.

1:36 p.m. Officer responded to a report of unwanted contacts by a male student to a female student residing in Burton. The male student was contacted and agreed to cease attempting phone and personal contact.

6:30 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a student injured at Stevenson, North Campus Dining Facility. The student tripped and fell behind the salad bar, striking her head on a table. She was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released.
