Jan. 1, 10:55 a.m. Officer reported slipping on the ice by Mudd parking lot ramp. The officer reported no pain or injury as he fell, but his upper body twisted.
Jan. 3, 1:35 p.m. Officer slipped on the west exterior Kosher kitchen stairwell, falling down several steps and landing on his lower back and left buttock.
Jan. 4, 12:31 a.m. Officer advised that she had fallen at the Pottery Shop while making a routine check of the building. The officer was treated and released at Allen Memorial Hospital after injuring her right arm.
1:16 a.m. Officer responded to an intrusion alarm at 164 E. Lorain St. No problem was found and the alarm was reset.
10:30 a.m. Officer advised that she had fallen on the ice while enroute to make a routine check of Zechiel. The officer stated that she stepped onto the curb in front of Zechiel and fell, twisting her lower back. The officer stated she also hit her right knee and right wrist.
Jan. 6, 12:21 p.m. Officer responded to an intrusion alarm as 164 E. Lorain St. A cracked window pane was found to be the couse of the alarm activation.
Jan. 8, 7:50 a.m. Officer responded to a report of a sprinkler system alarm at Warner Center. The sprinkler system malfunctioned, releasing water into Dance Studio number one.
Jan. 10, 3:01 a.m. Officer responded to a report of an argument at South Hall. The disagreement originated at Lord House. A male student was upset about his girlfriend watching movies, with other women, in the room of her former boyfriend, and confronted the other male student before apologizing and leaving the area. The student who was confrontational and had been drinking was refered to Judicial Board.
Jan. 10, 3:46 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a student who slipped and fell on the steps leading to the Timara Studios inside the Conservatory. The student fell, injuring a left elbow originally injured in an unrelated accident and repaired with metal hardware in October.
Jan. 11, 3:56 p.m. Officer responded to a report by a student from Dascomb Hall who had been receiving hang up phone calls in the early morning hours. The student was given information on reporting harassing calls to GTE should any additional calls be received.
Jan. 14, 2:31 p.m. Officer responded to a student in Mudd Library who reported receiving a disturbing email message demeaning the recipient's weight and appearance. Subsequent taunting emails were received when the reporting student replied. The matter was also reported to the Oberlin Police Department.
Jan. 16, 1:12 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a student who was concerned that his ex-partner had left his room in Asia House and he did not know her whereabouts.
Jan. 19, 11:15 a.m. Officer responded to a report of damage in several areas of South Hall. The right arm of a chair was sliced in the smoking lounge; a table was broken in the main lounge; electrical dead plate covers were broken on all floors and more wall paper was torn. A "Special Alert" notice from the Security office notified South Hall residents of the series of insidents of damage.
Jan. 21, 5:28 p.m. Officer and Allen Memorial Hospital ambulance sevice responded to a medical emergency at Phillips Gym. A recreation center member who was using the facilities expired in the ambulance while attended to by medical personnel.
Jan. 30, 12:23 a.m. Officer responded to a report of a card reader missing from the east side of Barrows since the day before. A work order was filed to replace the reader.
Feb. 1, 10:36 p.m. Officer discovered an AT&T card reader missing from Biggs Commons and a cover of the a card reader installation point removed. The card reader was returned anonymously to the Security Office.
Feb. 4, 4:10 p.m. Officer and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a report of a fire alarm in Asia House. A smoke detector had been activated by a resident cooking in the kitchen of a first floor residence.
Feb. 5, 4:59 p.m. Officer responded to a report by a representative of Swarthmore College, PA that a card reader missing from one of their facilities may have been mailed to an Oberlin student as part of a scavenger hunt. Swarthmore later reported that the CBORD card reader, valuing $3,500, was returned to them.
Feb. 6, 9:31 a.m. Officer responded to a report of trespassers at the ice rink overnight each night from February 2 through 6 between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The trespasser had climbed a fence, tearing the tarp, and slid on the ice with mud on his shoes. On this date, upon arrival at 6:00 a.m, a male approximately 5'7", wearing a black hat, hooded sweatshirt, black pants and gloves ran from the rink.
12:32 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at South Hall. A visiting parent, backing from a space, struck a rented vehicle, parked unoccupied in a fire lane.
10:10 p.m. Officer responded to a request of a student's parents to check on his well-being. The student, who resides off campus, was located and placed in contact with a staff member from Student Life.
11:41 p.m. Officer and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a report of a fire alarm at Price Hall. A pull station had been activated in the lounge area; the person responsible was not located.
Feb. 7, 4:36 a.m. Officer responded to a report of a student in South Hall who had become ill after taking drugs. The student was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment. The incident was also reported to Residential Life.
10:31 a.m. Officer responded to a report of a student ill from alcohol at South Hall. The student was in the care of a Residential Life staff member who monitored the student's condition.
Feb. 9, 4:00 a.m. Officer, while on routine building checks, reported the keys to the Service Garages missing.
10:57 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a bicycle theft from the west side of the Conservatory. The bicycle, a 26", black, 12 speed Schwinn mountain bike, 12 speedwas valued at $400 and was not locked at the time of theft.
11:32 p.m. Officer responded to a report of loud drumming at Hales Gym, Jazz Studio. The student practicing was advised if another complaint was received he would have to stop. At approximately 1:30 a.m. a second complaint was received and the student was advised to stop.
11:45 p.m. Officer and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the third floor of Barrows Hall. A smoke/heat detector was found disconnected from the ceiling bracket, activating the alarm.
