Bowlers hope to strike down the competition

by Rossiter Drake

The world-famous Oberlin College bowling team will be attending an ACUI Tournament at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor this weekend.

They will face stiff competition, however, as their opponents will include powerhouse teams including Michigan, Ohio State University, Ferris State and Case Western Reserve.

"We don't expect to do well because we are competing against much larger universities that attract larger student bodies," said junior team treasurer Jonathan Stoper. "Generally, we can compete only with Case Western because the other schools are simply too big. While we probably won't win in terms of total pinfall, I have confidence that our team's stunning bowling shirts and raw good looks will leave the other teams wondering which is really more important: winning or looking good."

The tournament will take place throughout the weekend. Saturday will feature six standard team matches, while Sunday will feature three more team matches and three baker games, during which five bowlers from each college or university will bowl two frames.
