March 3, 11:05 p.m. Officer responded to a fire alarm on the third floor kitchenette of Dascomb. The alarm was activated by the smoke from burnt popcorn in a microwave.
March 4, 12:49 a.m. Officer and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the third floor of Barrows. The alarm was activated by a malfunctioning smoke detector in the hallway.
March 4, 11:37 a.m. Officer removed an abandoned bicycle from the northeast bike rack at Philips Gym. The unregistered bicycle was transported to the Safety and Security Office.
11:53 a.m. Officer responded to a fire alarm at the Oberlin Inn. The alarm was activated by dust from drilling.
1:20 p.m. A Safety and Security officer responded to assist a student in South Hall who was extremely upset with her boyfriend. Residential Life staff also responded.
2:00 p.m. Officer responded to a report by a College staff member who was receiving a series of harassing e-mails at his off-campus residence.
March 5, 11:49 a.m. Officer responded to a report of a student in Dascomb who had been receiving hang-up calls approximately twice a week since September. The student was given options of reporting the problem to the GTE nuisance hotline, installing a line-minder, or contacting the College phone office for a number change or caller ID options.
5:39 p.m. Officer responded to a reported theft of an unattended wallet from the women's restroom in Robertson. The wallet was brown leather, contained $40. cash, OCID, Texas drivers license and an ATM card.
March 6, 1:57 a.m. Officer responded to a report that an unknown person or persons pulled and damaged the dry erase boards from approximately fifteen residential room doors on the second floor of Noah Hall.
3:17 a.m. Officer responded to a report that some individuals were seen leaving the crane inside the Environmental Studies building construction area. Upon arrival, the officer discovered that the crane was started and the air brakes released. The Safety and Security officer removed the keys which had been left in the ignition of the crane.
7:52 a.m. A Safety and Security officer responded to a report by the Upward Bound Director that a window had been broken on the north side of Stevenson Hall. An unknown person had thrown a sand-filled 5-gallon pail through the north glass door. No recent footprints were found, and it could not be determined whether entry was gained.
8:54 a.m. Officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Oberlin Inn. A first floor dining room smoke detector had been activated while a ceiling vent was being dusted.
9:43 a.m. Officer recovered an injured bat from the front porch of Wilder Hall.
10:43 a.m. A Safety and Security officer responded to the theft of a dry erase board on a door on the second floor of Noah Hall. A student reported that at approximately 1:45 a.m. she heard the board removed from her door by two males running down the hallway. Additional boards were removed or missing from doors on the fourth floor valued at $3 to $10 each.
6:07 p.m. Officer responded to a report of a nude male sitting in the Snack Bar. The male was advised to put his clothing on and that his actions were not permitted.
7:44 p.m. A Safety and Security officer, along with Oberlin Fire Department, responded to a smoke detector alarm in the basement hallway of Asia House. The alarm was activated when co-op members who were cooking on the stove forgot to turn the exhaust fan on.
3:06 a.m. A Safety and Security officer, while completing a transport, observed a male subject intentionally step on a bicycle causing damage to the bicycle spokes and gear handle. The subject was approached by the officer and agreed to pay for damages to the bicycle. The bicycle is a blue Schwinn World, 26"
March 7, 4:09 p.m. Officer responded to a report that someone had fallen on the southwest staircase in Bibbins section at the Conservatory injuring his left hip and forearm. The subject declined a transport to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment.
March 8, 10:25 a.m. Officer responded to a report that a vehicle registration tag #C-004 was stolen from a vehicle back in November. The tag was not reported stolen at the time due to the vehicle being inoperable.
3:21 p.m. Officer responded to a reported hit skip accident in Philips Gym parking lot. The vehicle is only driven at night and it is unknown when the accident occurred. Damage consisted of a broken tail light and approximately two and one half feet of paint damage to the driver and passenger doors.
11:30 p.m. A student reported the theft of her wallet from her unlocked room in Talcott. The wallet was later recovered in the basement laundry room. The only item missing from the wallet was a one dollar bill.
March 9, 2:36 a.m. Officer responded to a student at Barrows Hall who reported receiving a prank phone call from an unknown person. One call had been received and was harassing in nature by the caller advising the recipient that he knew where he lived.
