Hi everybody! I decided that the best way for me to remain involved in my fellow students' lives and the variety of organizations here on campus is to run for Senior Class President, allowing me to represent everyone's interests more directly. I want to establish a closer relationship between president, counsel and the independent groups on campus. I encourage increased participation; that participation can begin with voting in the upcoming elections. Knowing so many of you, I possess a knowledge of the spirit and passion of my classmates. Do me the honor of letting me take our class to a new level of community and understanding. My qualifications are: Cole Scholar, applicant to law schools, Telephone Outreach Supervisor, candidate for Senior Internship and Honors in English, ExCo's, OPIRG, OCDEM's, Musical Union (freshman year), auditioned for plays, supported as many cultural performances, lectures and student organizations as time would allow.

For the Senior Class, I believe myself to be the best qualified candidate. My involvement as Shansi Student Committee Co-Chair, Forum Board member and Junior Class Vice-President demonstrates my commitment to serve the interests and needs of our Oberlin communities. As a Co-Chair I initiated and facilitated programs to forward the mission of the Shansi Student Committee. As a member of Forum Board, I worked directly with student organization leaders to create learning opportunities outside of our classrooms. Serving as Junior Class Vice-President, I collaborated with the Class of 2000 Council to organize activities for class unity and development of student life. My goals as Senior Class President would be to actively represent the interests of our graduating class in the Honorary Degree, Class Gift and Senior Week committees. In particular, I intend to make Senior Week 2000 a memorable send off for us as we enter the next millennium.

One thing that attracted me to Oberlin was its diversity. However, over the past three years, I've noticed that the students were aware of the diversity, but it wasn't appreciated. Rather than just accept the variety in the student body and organizations, we should also celebrate them. I want to unify the class of 2000 by building a greater understanding of our peers. What makes us different is what has brought us together in Oberlin. Let's not try to do everything, but experience everything Oberlin has to offer before we get out of here.
I've been active as a member of Oberlin College Mentors, the '97-'98 secretary of Noah Hall Council, and a co-chair of the Biology Majors Committee. You may have seen me at work in the Chemistry stockroom, representing the Philippines with my girls in Colors of Rhythm '98, or "Walking on Sunshine" at the Cabaret.

First of all, I would like to give my best to all the candidates in this election. Also, I would like to say that I am really excited and honored to be part of the Class of 2000. I served as the President of the Class of 2000 for the past two semesters and I had a great time planning events and getting to know more people. In terms of qualification, I am sure everyone who is running for this position is qualified and capable of doing a great job. However, I have held this position before and I have great plans for us. I am also a Student Senator, an Orientation Leader and a 'Sco Employee. I would like everyone to have a great year and best of luck to everyone.

Hi, I just wanted to let everybody know that I'm running for Senior Class President of the class of 2000. I feel that I'm well qualified for the position. I am extremely active on campus. I have held several executive positions in La Alianza Latina, including Co-chair, I am a counselor in the Sexual Information Center, and I was the internal secretary of the Student Senate. I sit on a couple of committees including the College Admissions Committee and the Hewlett Grant Committee. I work on-campus as well as off-campus, on-campus I am the Student Assistant to the President in which I facilitate discussion between students and President Dye. So if elected I promise to serve the Class of 2000 to the best of my abilities and to help make it the best year of our Oberlin career.
