Review erred in Morris story

by Susanna Henighan

Contrary to a report in last week's Review, former Associate Professor of Religion James Morris will not be facing criminal prosecution for any action surrounding his sudden resignation from the college last week. Dean of the College Clayton Koppes reiterated this week that there will be no legal action stemming from Morris's departure.

Both Koppes and Morris declined to comment about the circumstances surrounding Morris's resignation, but several sources have pointed to an "improprietous" relationship with a student. The article also mentioned Morris had been accused of "sexual harassment," a claim that had not been substantiated.

Morris, who was reached for comment this week, said he will be leaving next week to take up chairmanship of an Islamic studies program at a European university.

The approximately 70 students in Morris's courses will receive two hours of credit and have the option to write an additional paper for the third hour.

In the article, Koppes' name was also misspelled.

The Review regrets these errors.
