Security Notebook


The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Safety and Security.

April 26, 1:14 p.m. An officer responded to a report of vandalism in the men's bathroom of Talcott. The words "Bodor" and "Creat" were written on the wall and ceiling about the bathroom stall. A work order was placed for removal.

April 29, 12:43 a.m. A Communications officer reported a nude white male quickly entering and exiting the Safety and Security Office. Officers searched the area for the male and others believed to be indecently exposing themselves with negative results.

9:05 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a light colored leather wallet missing from an office in Cox. The wallet contained identification, pictures and approximately $30 to $60 in cash.

5:37 p.m. An officer responded to assist a student who fainted at Barrows Hall. The student sustained a cut about her right eye as a result of the fall. She was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released.

April 30, 10:40 p.m. An officer while on patrol observed an unauthorized bonfire in Tappan Square. The fire was extinguished and the individuals associated with the fire were asked to disperse the area.

10:40 p.m. An officer responded to the report of two students having a disagreement about a beer tap. The officer mediated the conflict.

May 1, 7:31 a.m. An officer responded to a request to assist a student who was ill from drinking alcohol at a residential party. The student was taken to his room and frequent checks were made on his well-being. Residential Life was notified.

12:48 p.m. An officer responded to assist a student who struck her head on a metal radiator and was bleeding. The student was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment.

May 2, 2:25 a.m. An officer responded to a report of damage to the southwest exterior door at Burton. The window was broken and there was extensive damage to the door base. Facilities Operations was notified and temporary repairs were made.

May 3, 10:45 a.m. An officer responded to a report of vandalism at South Hall. Three exit signs were loosened, one side of an exit sign was removed, a light sensor was removed from the ceiling, plastic covers were removed and material was torn from a chair in the smoking lounge.
