When you request an escort home from security, do you feel secure bring escorted by your peers on the Student Patrol?
Maisie Swanson is a Conservatory first-year:
Yes. If I'm to assume that they would sign up for the job they feel confident they can perform their job, I must say however that I'm a very trusting person.
Elizabeth Fein is a College first-year:
Yes, I do.
Sarah Hull is a College sophomore:
Yeah definitely. It was one of my friends.
Rania Khan is a College first-year:
Yes I would. When you're walking around campus and you see all the security cars and patrols, I just feel safer.
Taye Amegboh is a College first-year:
Yeah, of course!
Sarah Jesse is a College first-year:
I feel secure walking around Oberlin at all hours anyway, which I know is naive and dumb.
Karin Stothart is a College first-year:
I think it's kind of ridiculous. If you're in a place near a phone you could just as easily walk somewhere safe. You should just ride your bike around at night. If you need it, it's there, which is good. But if you use common sense there shouldn't be a problem.
Russell Grant is a College senior:
If it's in a car, as opposed to a walking escort.
Lisl Walsh is a College first-year:
Just the student population, with its higher intelligence - its on a different level than the average 21-year-old driver.
Ingrid Huang is a College senior:
For a woman, it depends on if its guys, especially if it's two, but even one guy -- it could be shady, unless it's someone I know. I do have to say, those shuttles take so long!
Nedra Lee is a College first-year:
Yeah, I do. Of course there's safety in numbers. But I assume that they receive adequate training- at least I hope they do!
Jaya Bajpai is a College Senior:
It would depend on the situation. If I were in the Arb or some remote place I would feel more comfortable with a professional security guard. If I was at Keep or North Field for example, I would feel fine with a student patrol.
