Nov. 14, 3:01 p.m. Staff reported a broken window
on the southeast side of the Science Center. It is unknown how the
damage occurred. A work order was filed for repairs.
Nov. 14, 12:15 a.m. A student reported vandalism
in the basement of Wilder Hall. Trash cans and recycle bins were
turned over and paper was strewn about the mail area.
Nov. 15, 8:10 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department
responded to a fire alarm at Old Barrows. The alarm was activated
by smoke from food being cooked on the grill.
Nov. 15, 9:22 a.m. A student reported he was struck
by a vehicle crossing the street at North Professor and East Lorain.
The driver stopped the vehicle to check on the student’s well
being, took his name and left the area. The student was transported
to Allen Medical Center for treatment of injuries to his right hip,
shoulder and head.
Nov. 15, 11:53 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department
responded to a fire alarm at Langston Hall. A pull station was found
activated in the center section of the third floor for no apparent
reason.
Nov. 16, 12:25 a.m. A resident of Asia House reported
numerous broken beer bottles near the first floor, southeast entrance.
A work order was filed to have the glass cleaned up.
Nov. 16, 2:41 a.m. An officer was requested at South
Hall to check on an intoxicated student. Officers spoke with the
student in question and determined medical treatment was not necessary
at this time. The roommate was give an information sheet on care
and was advised to call if additional assistance was needed.
Nov. 16, 2:26 a.m. Student staff reported unknown
person(s) discharged a fire extinguisher outside on the east side
of Langston. No additional damage was noted.
Nov. 16, 3:58 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department
units responded to a fire alarm at Dascomb Hall. As units arrived,
a priority fire alarm was also received for Talcott Hall, South
Hall, Price Hall and Asia House. All alarms were found to be pull
stations activated for no apparent reason. The incident is under
investigation.
Nov. 16, 7:25 a.m. Officers responded to a fire
extinguisher cabinet alarm at Langston. The empty fire extinguisher
was located in the hallway. The fire extinguisher was discharged
just west of the dumpsters in the East parking lot. The incident
is under investigation.
Nov. 16, 7:34 a.m. While unlocking the Conservatory,
an officer found signs of forced entry into the audio cabinet in
a room in Bibbins. Nothing appeared to be missing and the room was
secured until the cabinet could be repaired.
Nov. 16, 3:18 p.m. A resident of Langston Hall reported
her Motorola flip top cell phone missing. The phone was last seen
at the Keep Halloween party around midnight.
Nov. 17, 12:58 a.m. A resident of Noah Hall reported
a loud party on the first floor. Alcohol in plain view was confiscated
and the party was shut down.
Nov. 18, 5:26 a.m. Officers and the Oberlin Fire
Department responded to a fire alarm at the Oberlin Inn. The alarm
was found to have been activated by boiler steam in the basement.
Nov. 18, 11:29 a.m. Staff at Talcott kitchen reported
the theft of food items. A container of skim milk was missing from
the dispenser and approximately 20 pounds of deli meat was taken.
The estimated value of the missing items is $103.00.
Nov. 19, 2:19 a.m A student reported his bicycle
missing from a tree on the east side of the Security office. The
bicycle is a white GT/Talera, 21 speed valued at $50.00.
Nov. 19, 9:37 p.m. Philips Gym staff reported a
broken backboard in the gym. It was learned a basketball was dunked
by a subject who then hung on to the rim causing the backboard to
shatter. A custodian was contacted for clean up of the glass.
Nov. 20, 2:54 p.m. An officer on routine patrol
of Tank Hall found the electrical door closer broken on the west
door. A work order was filed for repairs.
Nov. 20, 11:12 a.m. Staff at the Conservatory reported
vandalism to the men’s restroom on the second floor of Bibbins.
Doors to both stalls were forced outward so they would not close
and the stainless steel trash receptacle was kicked in.
Nov. 20, 1:26 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department
units responded to a fire alarm on the first floor of the Science
Center. A pull station was found activated for no apparent reason.
