To
those students who still have time to follow my advice:
I wouldn’t have been surprised to tell people that LSATs matter
more than grades for law school. But its also the case that GREs
matter more than grades for graduate school. For virtually any educational
program after college, your test scores will matter more than the
record you build in college.
A tenth of a point, a few tenths of a point of GPA — it won’t
matter compared to a significant difference on a standardized test.
Don’t wait until you see those tests just over the hill. Start
working on those tests as soon as you can. Treat it as a part of
your life as much, maybe more, than any one class you take. Unfortunately,
that’s how it is seen by graduate programs.
