Rodriguez
in Running
To
the Editors:
Elections
are here once again, and I’m sure you know what that means.
Yes, that’s right; Dan Rodriguez has heeded the call of duty
and decided to run for reelection for Student Senate. For those
of you who may have forgotten, I’m a double-degree student
representing both those from the college and the conservatory, so
that means all of you. I have had a successful first semester on
Senate, helping to pass such measures as a resolution against the
war in Iraq and a referendum to poll student opinion about the war.
I’ve also formed an advisory council to examine the possibilities
of converting unused meals into flex dollars. I have listened to
the issues voiced by the student body and brought forth their opinions
in dialogues with Nancy Dye and other administrators. Most importantly,
I haven’t missed a single plenary meeting or faculty meeting.
I’ve been responsible and a worthy representative. Naturally,
I intend to continue my good works as a member of Student Senate,
and still have several issues I would like to bring forth in my
next term. I feel communication between the student body and Student
Senate could be improved still further, though I have made several
efforts to do so. The Conservatory also still feels underrepresented;
don’t forget, it’s your constitutional right to have
at least one senator from the Conservatory, so take advantage of
that fact! After all, it’s not just a good idea to vote for
me, it’s your duty! So, if my experience, motivation and dedication
aren’t enough to convince you to vote for me, here’s
one more good reason: why not?
