Fellowship award

To the Editors:

I am writing to solicit applications from Oberlin students for a fellowship award tenable during 2003-04. The awardee will receive $1,000 toward his or her tuition expense upon completion of an academic project to be conducted abroad. The fellowship is a project of the David Love Memorial Fund, a charitable organization seeking to encourage Oberlin College students to supplement their liberal-arts education with an educational experience not otherwise available in the United States.
A suitable project might take the form of an apprenticeship or supervised internship in a government office, research laboratory, academic department, field station, museum, or similar setting. The nature of the project is the applicant’s choice, and is to be described in a proposal to be submitted by 30 April 2003. Details regarding the proposal, as well as other requirements (letters of reference, letter of sponsorship, conditions of award) may be obtained by contacting Yolanda.P.Cruz@Oberlin.edu, or by obtaining a solicitation announcement from the Study Away Office, Peters 205.
