Haynes letter gets praise

To the Editors:

A copy of a letter to the editor from James Ian Haynes is circulating the Internet. I want to express my deep respect and admiration for his courage and the way he articulated his viewpoint. He addressed a complicated issue thoughtfully and decisively, without ridiculing those who may oppose his view. I will sleep better at night knowing that young people like him will be serving in the armed forces, protecting the values our nation has stood for all these years!
