Oberlin Conservatory of Music and The Cleveland Orchestra are proud to announce the annual Thomas and Evon Cooper International Competition at Oberlin.

Since the summer of 2010, Oberlin Conservatory of Music joined with The Cleveland Orchestra to offer an important new international competition for young musicians. As of the 2016 competition for piano, overall cash prizes will increase to $40,000, including a $20,000 first prize.

  • All Cooper Competition rounds are open to the public.
  • Admission is free to all rounds in the conservatory’s Warner Concert Hall.
  • Tickets for the Concerto Finals with The Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall in Cleveland are available at or by calling (800) 686-1141.
