Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) refers to the borrowing and lending of materials between libraries; ILL service also includes delivery of photocopied articles from journals and other materials.

When you need a book that is not available in the Oberlin College Libraries, we first recommend that you search the OhioLINK Library Catalog to see if there is an available copy.

You can borrow books from other OhioLINK libraries by using the REQUEST THIS ITEM option. Read more about borrowing from OhioLINK or consult a circulation supervisor in any of the campus libraries.

If the book you want is not available on OhioLINK, or if you need an article from a journal (OhioLINK libraries do not lend periodicals), use Interlibrary loan to request a loan from a library outside of Ohio, or to request a photocopy of an article (note: unless special arrangements are made all copies are black and white; if color images are needed consult a circulation supervisor).
