Scope

The Honor Code applies to all academic work, including but not limited to examinations, quizzes, audiovisual works, presentations, projects (including winter-term projects), papers, recitals, exercises, artistic works, theses and laboratory assignments. Because Oberlin College is an educational institution, this code also applies to any cocurricular work, exercise, or documents that affect the educational experience. Violations of the Honor Code include cheating, plagiarism, fabrication, multiple submissions, and other acts as defined above in sections B.2. Concepts: c-g. (When there is a lack of clarity about whether a case falls under the jurisdiction of the judicial or honor system, the chair of the student honor committee or the honor system liaison will consult with the dean of students who will determine jurisdiction.)
