Punishment in drug case ironic

To the Editor:

I find it ironic that the student recently evicted from South Hall was told, as a form of punishment , "to find housing somewhere off-campus" ( Oberlin Review , March 15). Is not off-campus status a reward rather than a punishment? Gee, if I had only known it was so easy. . . A few joints would have been preferable to the pleading phone calls and letter I directed toward Residential Life in order to secure my off-campus status two years ago.
