Outdoor Track

Both men and women's track teams claimed seventh place finishes in the NCAC. The highlight of the meet and of the track season for Oberlin was junior Shannon Fox's amazing performance May 2-3 when she won the 10,000m and set a track record in the process, and also won the 5,000m and 3,000m races.
Fox qualified for nationals in the longest run, but opted not to compete.
For the men's tracksters, sophomore Harsha Thirumuthy won the NCAC 10,000m run.

Men's Lacrosse

The NCAC was tough on the men's lacrosse team. Though the squad's overall record was 6-7, it went winless in conference competition.
The 6-7 record marked the first time in nine years that the Yeomen finished with a record below .500.
Senior Ryan Kelley led the team consistently. He set records for points in a career and tied the record for most points in a season with 79 and was voted a first team all-conference player.
Junior David Kumpe was an honorable mention all-NCAC player. Senior Tasker Gundy was also a big scorer for the Yeomen.

Women's Lacrosse

For the second year in a row, the women's lacrosse team found itself in the conference championship game. But unlike last year, the underdog Yeowomen were unable to pull out a victory against perennial champion Denison University.
The team advanced to the championship game after a thrilling 8-6 win over Ohio Weslyan University, who had beaten the Yeowomen twice earlier in the season. The second OWU game was a knuckle-biter, a game that took OWU three overtimes to put away.
The only official conference losses for the 8-7 Yeowomen came to Denison and OWU.
Sophomore Katherine Roberts and junior Kate Williams led Oberlin and were first team all-conference picks. Sophomore Amy Kremen, first-year Kim Allen and senior Greta Mittner, all defensive players, were honorable mention selections for coach Mindy Manolovich's first OC team. Early in the season, first-year Amanda Kolker was a big scorer for Oberlin.

Baseball

With new coach Todd Mooney, the Oberlin baseball team managed to do something it hadn't done in years - win multiple games. Unfortunately, multiple for the Yeomen meant only a one victory improvement over the past few seasons.
The team constantly battled rain outs en route to its 2-21 season. Both wins came in non-conference play.
Speedy senior Ted Lytle made honorable mention as an all-NCAC player. Lytle, Noah Pressler and Oren Gradus are the only Oberlin players graduating this spring.

Men's Tennis

A young men's tennis team finished next-to-last in the NCAC.
Senior Adam Shoemaker played in the first flight for the Yeomen and accrued an 8-10 singles record. Teamed with junior Koji Ebersole, Shoemaker accumulated an 11-10 doubles record.
Apart from those two upperclassmen, the team was young and inexperienced. New coach Chris Barker said he's looking for big things to come from his team.

Women's Tennis

Junior Bethany Pribila led the women's tennis team to a 15-8 record and a fourth place NCAC tournament finish and a third place finish in regular season play.
With partner senior Helen Kang, Pribila accumulated a 17-6 doubles record. Athletic director Don Hunsinger coached the Yeowomen after Mary Gibson resigned.
