Teenage angst exposed

To the Editor:

During the past week, an anonymous member of the Oberlin community has graced us with an abrasive, underhanded tirade against fellow students referred to simply as Pomos. Singling out certain "high-profile" members of this particular clique, the author has obviously stepped over the lines of common courtesy, launching an unprovoked and thoroughly insensitive attack upon human beings with real feelings, defenseless students who quietly roam the hallways of King, Wilder, and Stevenson on a daily basis, minding their own business.

That aside, I would like to commend the author of the Indi and Po-mo Quarterly. During the past two years, I have rarely enjoyed teenage angst and its traditional advocates. The Quarterly is undoubtedly cruel and distasteful, but it cannot be described as humorless or inaccurate. Thus, as Mel Brooks once said, it rises below vulgarity. How wonderful!
