Condesend to Knowledgable Obies
To
the Editors:
“Did
you know?” “We are going to war,” “Do you
care?” were the questions posed in front of King one cold
crisp Wednesday morning. While one may think it is condescending
of you to assume that Oberlin students need to be notified of impending
events through news briefs posted under our feet, this is not the
case. Our first thought was, “Wow, what a colossal waste of
paper,” but then we realized that with Oberlin being such
a hotbed of right-wing conservative political action, we might have
never had access to this information. We are certain that these
signs will inspire many anti-war rallies that would not have been
held if Oberlin students had not been notified about this war by
your signs. Then, again, we thought, “What a waste of precious
resources,” but this line of thinking was drowned out by our
appreciation of how much our lives had been enriched by your signs
in ways we had never thought possible. By the way, our house is
having a party on Friday. Do you think you could flyer for us?
