The workings of the human brain came alive for Oberlin public school first and second graders last May, when they spent an afternoon with College neuroscience and biology students. The College students set up "Brain Stations" throughout the classroom, where they conducted brain-related activities they had developed under the guidance of Assistant Professor of Neuroscience and Biology Janice Thornton. Designed to teach the children through doing, the activities included making skull masks, looking at brains, and doing tactile and visual illusions.
