Once the finial of an early first century A.D. Roman dining couch, this bronze, Decorative Bust of Silenus, with its silver inlaid eyes and copper inlay for the berries, lips, and nipple of the exposed breast, says as much about the Romans' proclivity for conspicuous consumption as do written accounts from the period.
