New Athletics Director Appointed


Michael Muska

Michael Muska has accepted an offer to become Delta Lodge director of Athletics and Physical Education. He brings a wide array of experience with him, from work with high-school students through the training of Olympic athletes.

Muska served as assistant athletic director and associate director of admissions at Brown University from 1987-1993, and coached men's and women's varsity track and cross-country teams at Northwestern University. Muska comes to Oberlin from Milton Academy, where he was a college counselor following a similar stint at Phillips Academy. He also has extensive coaching experience at Cornell University, Auburn University, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

After graduating with a BA in history with honors at the University of Connecticut in 1969, he earned an MS in sports administration and sports studies at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Muska brings not only a wide knowledge of successful athletics and physical education programs, but boundless enthusiasm and commitment to his new position.
