ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
One of the ancient Egyptian gods is Ammit who is part crocodile. When you die they weighed your heart and if it was heavy it indicated that you had sinned in your life. This would lead to Ammit gobbling up your heart in the underworld. This book is imagining a firm penance to this god.
