Security Notebook


The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Safety and Security.

March 26, 6:37 a.m. A Safety and Security office while on patrol observed a maroon Mercury Grand Marquis parked in Union Street parking lot was damaged. The "Mercury" emblem was broken off the trunk lid and three taillight bulbs were broken.

10:47 a.m. A non-Oberlin College person reported injuring his right ankle after falling into a hole in the sandstone sidewalk at Hales. Treatment was received at Allen Memorial Hospital.

March 28, 9:49 p.m. A Safety and Security officer responded to a report of a student ingesting an unknown amount of capsules. The student received treatment at Allen Memorial Hospital. The incident was also reported to Residential Life.

March 30, 4:41 p.m. A staff person reported receiving prank phone calls at her old apartment. Seven calls received, which consisted of excerpts from a movie, were left on her answering machine.

7:32 p.m. A Safety and Security Officer responded to a report from a resident of Langston Hall of a disturbance in the lounge on the third floor. Residential Life was notified of the problem.

March 31, 1:20 p.m. A Safety and Security officer observed two vehicles operating in a reckless manner northbound on Woodland Street. Occupants of one vehicle were later identified and advised of their actions.
