Apr. 27, 1:10 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a staff person of graffiti painted in the stalls, ceiling and walls of the first floor men's restroom at South Hall. The incident is under investigation by the Safety and Security Office. Apr. 28, 4:36 a.m. An officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the third floor of King. The alarm was activated by a malfunctioning smoke detector. Apr. 28, 9:23 a.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of the theft of her Kmart, All Pro, white, men's 10 speed bicycle, valued at $50, from the east side of Peters Hall. The bicycle was not locked at the time of theft. Apr. 28, 5:15 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of the theft of her dark blue, Giant mountain bike, valued at $200, from the south side of Dascomb. The bicycle was not registered with Oberlin Police Department. Apr. 29, 4:51 a.m. An officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the basement of Asia House. The alarm was activated by smoke from cooking. Apr. 29, 7:31 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of the theft of her blue, 24", Univega bicycle, valued at $500, form the north side of South Hall. The bicycle was locked at the time of theft. Apr. 30, 11:08 a.m. An officer on patrol discovered scorch marks on the south door of Zechiel. Several papers/flyers were set on fire, causing the damage. Apr. 30, 3:58 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a staff person of a broken window on the north side of the lounge area at Dascomb. It is unknown how the damage occurred. May 1, 10:55 a.m. An officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Dascomb. The alarm was activated by a malfunctioning smoke detector. May 1, 6:34 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a staff person of damage to the door that separates the Dascomb dining area from the main lounge by an unknown female. After being denied entry, she kicked the bottom portion of the wire-reinforced glass, creating a hole. May 1, 8:02 p.m. An officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the first floor of Harkness. The alarm was activated by steam from hot water.
