Mar. 8, 9:13 p.m. A student was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment of a hand injury received when it was accidentally slammed in a door.
Mar. 8, 9:30 p.m. Oberlin Police Department reported a fire at a house on Locust Street rented by students. The residents were not home at the time of the fire. The College arranged temporary housing and support for students displaced by the damage.
Mar. 9, 4:42 p.m. A student was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment of a cut hand received from a piece of broken glass while emptying trash.
Mar. 9, 5:02 p.m. A student from South Hall reported receiving unwanted phone calls from an ex-boyfriend. The student declined additional action at this time.
Mar. 10, 1:27 p.m. A student reported the theft of a bicycle from the bicycle rack at Wilder Hall on the north side. The bicycle is a Triumph, blue-green in color, with a broken bell on the handle. The bicycle is valued at $50.
Mar. 10, 4:37 p.m. A student staff reported the vending machine broken into at Zechiel. It is unknown how much product is missing. Oberlin Police Department was notified.
Mar. 10, 5:16 p.m. Two students reported thefts from Kosher Co-op. A wallet, containing credit cards, a driver’s license and phone card, was removed from the pocket of a coat which was left hanging in the dining hall. A yellow backpack, containing gym clothes, miscellaneous items, a zip disk and a water bottle, was taken from the steps of Kosher Co-op.
Mar. 11, 1 a.m. A staff member reported vandalism to her office window in Kettering. Two male subjects were observed running from the area just after the window broke. Attempts to locate the subjects were unsuccesful.
Mar. 13, 8:40 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Cox. A smoke detector in the basement was activated by dust from a custodian cleaning in the area.
Mar. 13, 10:21 p.m. A student was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment of a head injury received after a fall at a kick boxing class at Philips Gym.
