Coming OSTA Shows
The
Oberlin Student Theater Association (OSTA) fall season will start
with “24-Hour Play,” which invites students to walk
into an audition on Friday September 20th at 9 pm, pull an all-nighter
and create a play from scratch, and then perform their production
at Little House Theater 22 hours later.
For more information contact Margaret Morley.
Side Man will go up on Thursday 4/26 and run through the weekend.
The playwright, Warren Leight, says “Side Man” is about,
“jazz musicians: from their heyday, after the war, through
the decline of the big bands and bop, through the rise of rock and
roll, to the dark years of the seventies and eighties.”
The play is directed by Asher Rapkin and features a six member cast.
Tickets will be on sale a week before the production.
Hoop
Series presents Sam Shepard'’s play True West, directed by
senior Aaron Bonner-Jackson, and sponsored in part by OSTA.
According to the OSTA’s synopsis of the show: “In two
acts this piece explores the complexities of identity and family
relationships. Beer is consumed, arguments ensue, and crickets chirrup
incessantly in the background.”
There will be two performances - on the 12th and 13th of October
-- at 8PM in Little Theater.
