Sports Shorts “Every once in a while, you realize when it counts. [I realized] this is my last race ever.” David Bevacqua, a senior runner from Newton Square, Pa., and Apryl Wynn, a junior jumper and hurdler from Cleveland, both captured North Coast Athletic Conference titles last weekend in the NCAC meet at Ohio Wesleyan. Bevacqua blew away the field in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:39, and also added a fourth-place finish in the steeplechase. Wynn captured the triple jump title with a leap of 38’4.25”, and also took second place finishes in the long jump and the 100-meter hurdles. |
