What's New with
the Big Parade:

The Big Parade Is Here!

Parade Season has (already) begun. That means there's just over one month left to build those floats. Time to get started!

UPDATE (March 30th, 2011):Float building is in full swing! Drop by on Saturday with your BIG idea and get started!

Two years ago, we moved into a new location, "The BIG Space" in the garage behind Oberlin College Student Health Services. That's 247 West Lorain Street, across from Hollywood Street. Just follow the parking lot all the way around to the back.

Float Building at The Big Space begins this Saturday (April 2nd) and continues every Saturday until the parade. Come to 247 W. Lorain, behind Student Health, on Saturdays between 1pm and 5pm to turn your craziest ideas into big, colorful floats. *Free BBQ*. All ages are welcome!

FAVA Workshops, are also ongoing. The next two will take place on Sunday, April 17th & Sunday, May 1st. These workshops include mask-making, puppet-making and other non-float-building activities. They happen . Come by the upstairs classroom in the New Union Center for the Arts (39 South Main Street) to participate. All workshops are free and open to the public.

We encourage float-building to occur in more places all around town. But stay safe, and keep things clean. Make sure you can get your float to Eastwood Elementary (198 East College Street) by 10am on Saturday, May 7th.

If you don't have a float by May 7th, feel free to join the parade anyways. Meet us at 11am at Eastwood Elementary, watch us at 12am on East College Street, or join the fun all day at Tappan Square.

We encourage everyone to get involved in helping this year's parade. More ways to help, and a volunteer sign-up form are also available on this website.
