Marissa is a true two-sport star, a member of both the new varsity softball team and the Sunshine Scouts - during the same season no less. We sat down to chat about sports, life and to experience the rapid fire wit that is Marissa.
It's rumored that you modeled before you came to Oberlin. Did you ever pose with a belt around your chest for, say Cosmo?
Nothing so distinguished as that. I did have those posters out for our first Scouts. No belts around my chest for any mainstream magazines.
How did you get the belt around your chest?
Velcro.
Sunshine Scouts: is it sports, is it comedy, is it sports-comedy?
It's all that combined.
It's sporomedy.
Um, our fearless leader likes to equate it with professional wrestling.
During Sunshine Scouts, do you wear sports underwear or a sports bra?
If I come to a Scouts practice after softball practice, oftentimes, like right now I'm wearing like, my sports underwear and my sports bra and I just got done with a Scouts practice.
So wait, you came from softball to Scouts practice to here all in the same undergarments?
Yea, well actually I changed sports bras, but I still stuck with the sports bra. So, are you guys going to tell me about the underwear you're wearing then?
Editor 1: I haven't changed my underwear in a week.
Editor 2: I have my underwear divided into my sports boxers and my nice boxers, but I'm still wearing my sports boxers.
Well, we're all there then.
What's your favorite sport, softball or contact comedy?
Oh, don't do that to me, I couldn't choose. It's like choosing between children; you just can't do it.
My mother did. I beg to differ. I won't tell you where I fell on the pecking order, there. So, when you play softball, do you throw like a girl?
Definitely.
What position will you be playing in softball?
I'm going to be splitting time between outfield and first base.
So, you're versatile.
Yea.
Ed. 3: Like Frank Thomas, when -
Ed. 2: We're doing an interview here, numbnutz.
Is his real name numbnutz?
Ed. 2: Middle name. It's uh, Mooch.
Mooch, Mooch Numbnutz. That's a great name.
Ed. 3: What?
Oh, he responds to it, ahahhah!
Two words, whatever comes to mind. Lollipops.
Suck.
And bananas.
Oh, what combined or individually?
Combined.
A really, awful flavor for Dum-Dums. I would say artificial banana flavoring.
Last question. Will you please wear the plaid skirt and knee-high socks to Drag Ball: The Millenium is Here?
I'm actually going masculine this year, but I'll make sure some sexy guy wears that stuff.
Well, there will be a lot of disappointed men at Drag Ball this Saturday.
Oh no, you have no idea what my costume is about.
