Sept. 26, 8:11 a.m. Staff reported a broken window in Dascomb Hall in the commons area. It appeared the window was broken by a ball from the pool table. A work order was filed for repair.


Sept. 27, 9:48 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of the Oberlin Inn. The alarm was found to be caused by dripping water on the detector. A work order was filed.


Sept. 27, 3:24 p.m. A student reported being harassed by a former boyfriend. Officers responded and attempts were made to locate the subject with negative results. She was advised to contact Security if he is seen again.

Sept. 28, 2:21 a.m. A student reported being kicked in the leg by an unknown group of males outside the Feve. A check of the area was made for the subjects with negative results. The student declined medical treatment at this time. The incident is under investigation.

Sept. 28, 8:30 p.m. A staff member reported the theft of her bicycle from the front of the Admissions Office. The bicycle is a Schwinn Frontier, 21 speed, black cherry in color and valued at $350.00.

Sept. 28, 10:28 p.m. Officers responded to a report of an illegal party in Talcott. Alcohol was confiscated from the room and the party was closed down.

Sept. 29, 1:23a.m. A resident of Asia House reported panels on two wooden door, facing the courtyard, broken. Officers responded and located the responsible party. A work order was filed for repairs.


Sept. 29, 12:33 a.m. An employee at Wilder Hall Disco requested assistance escorting a belligerent non-student male from the building. The subject was identified, warned not to return and escorted from the building. At approximately 1:04 a.m. the employee called and advised the male returned. Oberlin Police Department was contacted. The male was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespass.


Sept. 29, 2:44 a.m. Officers responded to a loud noise/music complaint at Talcott. Upon arrival, the occupant of the room, who appeared to be intoxicated, was advised of the complaint and to turn down the music. The occupants were also advised of the college alcohol policies. Incident referred to the Dean’s Office.


Sept. 29, 11:30 p.m. Officers responded to a report of an illegal party at College housing on Union Street. Officers contacted the occupants and the party was closed down.

Sept. 28, 3:55 a.m. Officers were requested on Locust Street to assist with a student ill from alcohol consumption. The student was transported to Oberlin Medical Center for treatment.

Sept. 29, 8:52 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Dascomb Hall. The alarm was activated by smoke from slightly burned pancakes.

Sept. 29, 11:06 a.m. The parent of a student called the Safety and Security expressing concern for the well-being of her daughter. Officers responded to check on the student, who was later transported to Oberlin Medical Center for treatment.

Sept. 30, 12:23a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Keep Co-op. The cause of the alarm was found to be a malfunctioning detector.

Sept. 30, 7:20 a.m. A staff member reported vandalism near a west exterior door at the Art Museum. A concrete ashtray was turned over and trash was strewn about the area. Graffiti, including obscene language, was written on the south wall. A work order was filed for clean up.


Oct. 1, 6:23 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Police Department responded to a fire alarm at Barrows Hall. The cause was found to be a malfunctioning detector. A work order was placed for repair.


Oct. 1, 7:21 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a chlorine leak at Carr Pool. The building was evacuated and contractors responded for clean-up.


Oct. 1, 9:38 p.m. An officer, while on patrol, observed a male subject, on Oberlin College trespass, enter Hales Gym. Oberlin Police Department responded. The male was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespass.
