HISTORY

Fifty-five years ago this congregation was organized. The present church building was finished in 1960. The minister is Rev. Willie Parish. Historian is Lena Albright. For congregational singing overhead transparencies are most often used, in addition to hymns selected from the hymnal in the pews, Hymns of Glorious Praise.

 



GRACE BIBLE CHURCH

HISTORY

This independent congregation in 1990 bought the building in which they hold their services and moved in to it in 1991. The aim of the church is to spread the gospel of Christ to all who would hear it until Christ comes. The minister is Pastor Dale Partlow and the music director is Danita Abraham. The congregation's favorite hymns are "How great Thou art" and "Pleasant quietness". We are indebted to David Vetter for this information.

For about fifty years this independent church has existed. Mother Wisdom is the present minister or spiritual director. The church members work together to provide a good home for children.

THE CHURCH OF GOD

HISTORY

This recently gathered congregation now meets for worship on Sunday evenings in First Baptist Church, 44 E. Lorain Street. Its denominational headquarters are at 197 Tillie Road in Cleveland, TN. At various times in its history since 1903 the denomination has been known as "The Church of God", "The Church of God over which A.J. Tomlinson is General Overseer", "The Church of God over which A.J. Tom linson was and Milton A. Tomlinson is General Overseer", "The Church of God of Prophecy", "The Concerned" and in 1993 once again "The Church of God", a continuation of the original Church in its original revelation. The church continues "as a theocracy, governed under the immediate direction of God".
