Feb. 22, 10:15 a.m. Security officers and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at South Hall. The alarm was activated by steam from the restroom.

Feb. 22, 3:10 p.m. A student reported his bicycle missing from the west side of Stevenson Hall. The bicycle is Specialized Hard Rock, teal in color, a man’s, 18 speed.

Feb. 22, 7:50 p.m. A student reported her dark blue, Huffy Key Largo bicycle missing from the northwest entrance of Wilder Hall. The bicycle is valued at $100.

Feb. 22, 9:57 p.m. Security officers and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Wilder Hall. Smoke from burned popcorn activated the alarm. 

Feb. 23, 10:59 a.m. A staff reported a minor accident in the Conservatory loading dock. A vehicle, backing up, struck a parked vehicle causing minor damage. There were no injuries.

Feb. 23, 11:51 a.m. A student reported a black Huffy Stalker bike missing from the south bike rack at North Hall.

Feb. 23, 12:15 p.m. A staff member reported the theft of electrical cables missing from storage at Hales Gym. The cables were valued between $800 and $1000. The incident is under investigation.

Feb. 23, 8:29 p.m. A staff member reported vandalism to Zechiel Hall. Several areas in the building were spray painted with black paint, a bulletin board was ripped of the wall and tiles were removed from the floor. The incident is under investigation.

Feb. 24, 2:25 p.m. A student reported an odor of marijuana in South Hall, first floor. The report is under investigation.

Feb. 24, 5:32 p.m. A student reported a discharged fire extinguisher on the third floor of Langston Hall. The fire extinguisher was replaced and a work order was filed for clean up.

Feb. 25, 1:24 p.m. A student reported vandalism to the walls in Harkness. Black permanent markers were used to write on the walls in the east stairwell and other various locations.

Feb. 26, 10:30 p.m. While on patrol a security officer observed a broken window at Wilder Hall. A student was sitting on the window sill and bumped the window pane causing it to break. There were no injuries.

Feb. 26, 11 p.m. Officers and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Keep. The alarm was activated by a malfuctioning detector.

Feb. 27, 3:17 p.m. A museum security officer reported that a portable wall fell at the Museum, damaging an eight-foot table and a plastic PVC cart. There were no injuries.

Feb. 27, 11:45 p.m. A student reported the theft of her black nylon wallet from her coat pocket while in the Art Building. The wallet contained miscellaneous ID.

Feb. 27, 1 a.m. A staff member reported a heated disagreement between non-college students in the ’Sco. The Oberlin Police Department was requested to assist and the group dispersed.

Feb. 27, 8:47 a.m. A student reported his black wallet was taken from his pants pocket while he played racquetball. The wallet contained $10 cash and a drivers license.
