Energy Challenge a Successful Endeavor
To the Editor:
Thanks to all who participated in the Spring Energy Challenge. Significant energy savings occurred throughout campus, and many students acquired new awareness of how to save energy and reduce their contribution to climate change. Turning off monitors and using the cold water cycle for laundry were some of the most popular changes students made.
Due to unfortunate circumstances, the results of the challenge were inconclusive. Since there was no obvious “winner” in Spring Energy Challenge, we have decided that everyone should be rewarded for their participation and enthusiasm.
To celebrate these successes, the Sierra Student Coalition and ResLife will sponsor an Ice Cream Social for the entire campus in Harkness Bowl on Monday, May 14, at 4:30 p.m. Make your own sundaes with ice cream from Miller’s. Impromptu musical performances may occur, so bring your instruments and take a break from studying.
